the hotel

Somewhere between history and present, you'll find The Postcard Mandalay Hall. The hotel's timeless spirit comes from Mattancherry, a neighbourhood that has seen the comings and goings of civilization - seen through its churches, temples, mosques, and synagogue rubbing shoulders with colonial buildings. In this storied setting, you'll find five rooms - or galleries, given the hotel's art influence - carefully put together by the architect Tony Joseph and curated by Bose Krishnamachari.

living

The rooms at The Postcard Mandalay Hall are called galleries with good reason. Each room is curated in the true sense of the word, with artworks by handpicked artists found as you make your way through the rooms. They are also utterly luxurious, with clean lines framing the voluminous bed, choicest furniture, and other design touches that are best discovered once you check in.

Art walks. Historic walks. Or leisurely, neighbourhood walks. The riches of Mattancherry and Fort Kochi are within, well, walking distance from the hotel. The town’s creative spirit runs through its markets, boutiques, and cafes, offering a wealth of local experiences no matter your interests.

dining

Mattancherry's worldly influence makes its presence in the hotel’s culinary offerings, most notably at അ, or Aah, the experimental fine dining restaurant. The restaurant specialises in contemporary Kerala cuisine bringing in global ideas to local flavours - a rare idea, expertly executed. The name is a nod to the first letter, and sound, in Malayalam, indicating perhaps, that in these parts too, everything begins and ends with food.

A new benchmark for Hospitality!!!

This is probably the youngest hotel chain out there and boy are they different!!! its a small hotel bang on the Jew street and in a very quaint part of the city. I am sure you can get a better property in terms of room design, size of pool, amenities etc; BUT - you will not get the unmatched warmth and hospitality Renjith and team bring...every staff member is a gem and truly address all your demands with a smile and genuine good intent.

Go here for a personal warmth and an experience of a life time.

നന്ദി - nandi Everyone at The Postcard!!!

Gem of a boutique hotel

I spent three nights at the Postcard Mandalay during a three-week trip to India. I stayed entirely in 5-star hotels and this was among my favorites. The hotel is located on a pedestrian only street in the historic Jewish quarter and a short tuk tuk ride away from Fort Cochin. The neighborhood is full of interesting shops, coffee houses, and traditional outdoor markets. The entire staff is professional and friendly under the manager Renjith’s leadership. Too many to individually name but include housekeeping, dining, and kitchen staff. Everyone is so helpful and kind. The chef is very talented and creative. I ate all my meals there! I stayed in Gallery 2 and didn’t mind the occasional happy voices from the street. Highly recommended!

Amazing service and an amazing stay

A big thank you to the team at Postcard Mandalay Hall! The welcoming Kerala Cuisine and the spoiling service at this place has changed the level of service expectations from a Hotel. A truly amazing Boutique property nestled in the heart of Jew Town

Rustic & Aesthetically pleasing experience, highly recommended.

We had the greatest time at Mandalay Hall, Renjith kept us well informed and well serviced from day 0, they gave us an early check in, the food was outstanding, the location in the synagogue lane is perfect for a local experience, Renjith also helped us book a cab for the rest of our trip. He was constantly in touch with us over WhatsApp during our stay, any type of customisation was not a problem. The room had yummy goodies to eat, and there was a give away both the nights placed on the bed. We would recommend this place to everyone who wants an authentic fort kochi experience, you get Ubers near the hotel very quickly to reach fort kochi in 5-10 mins, the art shops all around make it a designers paradise to walk around.

The hotel is made in a 100’s of years old Jewish bunglow, and extremely aesthetically done. It’s the perfect bridge between old world and new world charm.
